Outside of his work at LGI, Stephen Day is interested in fast cars, drag racing, and offshore powerboats.

Powerboat P1 is the fastest growing marine motorsport series in the world and has a long term commitment to growing and developing the sport of power boating at all levels. The Powerboat P1 team works closely with the sport’s governing bodies, the UIM (Union Internationale Mononautique) APBA ( American Power Boat Association), and the IJSBA (International Jet sports Boating Association). P1 has delivered more than 85 world championship events in over twelve different countries for more than a decade.

The P1 journey began with its first Offshore race in 2003 in Italy. Fast Forward to today, P1 has committed itself to developing and growing the Offshore sport into what it once was. Producing high quality events with exciting competition. P1 along with OPA produced the first APBA US Offshore National Championship series in several years.

Miss Geico is the most recognized powerboat in the P1 series. Other Offshore teams include team Lucas Oil, Team MCON, Team 222 Offshore & Victory Team.
